🏰 The 2023 Bastian Wolber 'Laisse Tomber' Hautes Côtes de Beaune is a red Pinot Noir from a generous, classical Burgundian vintage. The vines, planted in the 1980s on a plateau above Beaune, are farmed with non-certified organic and biodynamic practices. This wine offers depth with notes of dark cherry, forest floor, crushed violet, and liquorice, supported by fine, persistent tannins. While some found it surprisingly light and candied initially, it gains weight with aeration, retaining a playful character. James Suckling awarded it 94 points, noting its impressive quality for the appellation and suggesting it could be mistaken for a Nuits-Saint-Georges, highlighting its excellent energy and expressive finish. It is characterized by a light and perfumed style. 【A very impressive wine for its appellation, with James Suckling suggesting it could be mistaken for a Nuits-Saint-Georges】
🍴 This versatile red Burgundy pairs well with chicken and turkey, as well as beef, veal, poultry, game (deer, venison), aged cheeses, red meat, and seasoned salumi.
🥂 This delicious and playful red is suitable for enjoying now, especially as it evolves with aeration. Its depth and fine tannins also suggest it has good aging potential, making it a great choice for a casual dinner or a gathering with friends.
