🏰 【From the esteemed Vincent Dancer, this Meursault Perrieres 1er Cru 2017 hails from one of Meursault's most prestigious Premier Cru vineyards, often considered Grand Cru quality, renowned for its intense minerality and precision.】 The 2017 Burgundy vintage was generally very good, offering wines with both ripeness and freshness. While specific tasting notes for this exact wine are rare, Meursault Perrieres is celebrated for its profound minerality, often described as 'gunflint,' interwoven with notes of citrus, hazelnut, and a rich, buttery texture, all balanced by vibrant acidity and a powerful, lingering finish.
🍴 This exceptional white Burgundy is a superb partner for richer dishes, especially those with cream sauces, such as roast Bresse chicken, sole meunière, or pike quenelles with crayfish sauce. It would also be delightful with pan-seared scallops or lobster poached in butter.
🥂 An ideal choice for a celebratory dinner, a special occasion for white Burgundy aficionados, or a serious tasting to appreciate its complex layers and aging potential.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Vincent Dancer is a small but highly regarded Burgundian producer based in Chassagne-Montrachet, in the Côte de Beaune, France. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay. Dancer began in 1996 with an annual production of 4000 bottles, sold mainly to négociants, and produced from family-owned vines that had previously been rented to relatives. Since 2003, this figure has increased to around 20,000 bottles. Since the portfolio includes over a dozen wines, only a few barrels made of each.
