🏰 Domaine Raveneau is a highly celebrated and sought-after estate in Chablis, renowned for crafting exceptional Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines. The 2019 vintage was noted for producing small but concentrated grapes. The Chablis Forêt 1er Cru is sourced from 0.67 hectares of 15-year-old vines.
Initially, the 2019 Chablis Fôret 1er Cru can present a strict nose, requiring some coaxing to reveal flint and pressed white flower notes. With aeration, subtle hints of citrus and white flowers emerge. The palate is well-balanced, taut, and fresh, displaying a fine acidity with notes of quince and tangerine leading to an elegant finish. It is described as textured and energetic, exuding a subtle minerality and a powerful, age-worthy character. Some tasters also detect lemon, green apple, and a lactic touch. 【Exceptional quality and consistency from a celebrated Chablis estate】.
🍴 This wine is an excellent match for rich seafood dishes such as seared scallops, baked crab, Dover sole, turbot, and halibut. It also pairs beautifully with other shellfish, lobster, white fish, chicken, delicate pork preparations, sophisticated salads, and lighter fare.
🥂 The elegance and aging potential of this Chablis make it ideal for fine dining tables, special celebrations, or as a prized addition to a wine collector's cellar.
