🏰 The 2006 Jean Louis Trapet Chambertin Grand Cru is a 【premium red Burgundy that allows you to fully appreciate the true value of aged Pinot Noir】, showcasing a deep flavor and elegant aging from a challenging yet ultimately successful vintage. Trapet, a biodynamic producer, crafted this wine with a complex aroma of red fruits like cherry and blackcurrant, layered with nuances of smoke, forest floor, cinnamon, and earth. On the palate, supple tannins and long-lasting acidity harmonize, creating a classic style with a long finish, revealing rich red fruit, spice, and forest notes.
🍴 This mature Grand Cru is exquisite with delicate game birds such as roasted squab or pheasant, truffle-infused dishes, or a classic coq au vin. It also pairs beautifully with aged, earthy cheeses like Epoisses or Comté.
🥂 A truly special wine for a significant celebration, a reflective gathering, or a connoisseur's private cellar tasting. It's capable of aging for 30 years, offering a profound experience of aged Burgundy.
Serving suggestion for old wines: For a wine of this age, the cork and capsule may be fragile. Handle with care and consider using an Ah-So opener. Decant gently for 1-2 hours to allow the wine to breathe and any sediment to settle, but monitor closely to prevent over-oxidation. Serve at cellar temperature, around 16-18°C (60-64°F), to best appreciate its evolved complexities.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Trapet is a wine company comprised of two estates, one in Alsace, the other in Burgundy.
