🏰 The Nicolas Rossignol Volnay Cailleret 2011 is a concentrated, dark, and very closed wine from a Premier Cru vineyard in Volnay, Burgundy. The 2011 vintage in Burgundy was described by Nicolas Rossignol himself as being "all about freshness and energy," and "one of the best vintages I've made." This wine exhibits a tight, nervy character that allows the fruit and the texture from the limestone soil to be felt. Tasting notes reveal a very strong ruby color, pure spicy cherry fruit on the nose, and a dense, earthy, dark cherry fruit that evolves into a satisfying finish. It is an impressive, age-worthy wine that needs further aging, with some suggesting it drinks beautifully at 12 years old, showing no signs of age. 【Freshness and energy of the 2011 vintage】
🍴 This elegant Volnay 1er Cru pairs beautifully with refined dishes that complement its red fruit and earthy notes. Consider roasted chicken with herbs, pan-seared duck breast, mushroom risotto, or delicate veal preparations. Its acidity and structure also make it suitable for a variety of soft, aged cheeses.
🥂 Ideal for a special dinner, a Burgundy-focused tasting, or as a thoughtful gift for a collector. It's a wine that rewards patience and decanting, perfect for an evening dedicated to exploring its evolving complexities.
