Château Montrose is a winery in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. The wine produced here was classified as one of fourteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
This wine is made from the Chasselas grape, which is known for its delicate and mineral-driven profile. The vineyard's history dates back to 1584, making it one of the oldest in the region. Its unique terroir, with gravelly soils rich in flint, contributes to the wine's distinctive flinty and fresh character. L'Ovaille is celebrated for its commitment to preserving tradition while producing high-quality wines.
