🏰Domaine des Comtes Lafon's Montrachet Grand Cru 2004 is a 【world-class white Burgundy】, a testament to the producer's mastery in a vintage that, while mixed for white Burgundy overall, yielded attractive wines with freshness and elegance from top vignerons. Lafon's 2004 Montrachet has proven to be outstanding, with some bottles still showing remarkable youthfulness and complexity, defying the challenges of the vintage.
🍴 This exquisite white wine demands equally refined culinary partners. It pairs beautifully with rich seafood such as grilled lobster, seared scallops, or roasted turbot. Creamy poultry dishes and mature, nutty cheeses would also create a harmonious match.
🥂 A truly extraordinary wine for the most special celebrations, a connoisseur's tasting, or as a centerpiece for a memorable gourmet dinner. Its profound complexity and power make it an unforgettable experience.
BACKGROUND
Domaine des Comtes Lafon is a wine producer in Burgundy, France, making some of the most lauded (and highly priced) white wines from Chardonnay in the region. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay, with a small portion being Pinot Noir. The estate is located in Meursault in the Côte de Beaune subregion, but has vineyards in three other villages: Chassagne-Montrachet, Volnay and Monthélie. Comtes Lafon's house and cellar were built in 1869 by the Boch family, but its reputation as a winery was most heavily influenced by Jules Lafon, who married Marie Boch in 1894.
