Lucien Le Moine, Corton Bressandes Grand Cru, 2012
🏰 The 2012 Burgundy vintage faced challenges with a wet, cool spring, persistent rain, and hailstorms, leading to very low yields. However, a fine September rescued the day, ripening the grapes and resulting in some fantastic wines. The Pinot Noir berries were small and concentrated, leading to wines with ripe, sweet, punchy fruit, fresh acidity, and very fine tannins. This Corton Bressandes Grand Cru is described as a dark, exotic beauty, utterly captivating and surprisingly open and expressive. It offers attractive red and black fruit that convey great energy and vitality, with a fine citric thread and more structure and grip on the finish, along with a touch of spice. Aromas include intense dark berries, undergrowth, and a fine mineral note. 【A powerful and elegant Grand Cru, showcasing impressive terroir complexity and individuality from a challenging yet ultimately successful vintage.】
🍴 Excellent with strongly-flavored meats, roasted or grilled beef, all game birds and animals (roasted, braised, or in sauce), and mature Comté cheese.
🥂 A wine with impressive terroir complexity and unmistakable individuality, suitable for special occasions and fine dining. It has good keeping potential and will age very well.
