Hubert Lamy, Criots Batard Montrachet Haute Densite Grand Cru, 2022
🏰 The 2022 white Burgundy vintage is truly 【exceptional and remarkably consistent】, offering superbly balanced wines with ripe fruit, keen acidity, and profound complexity. This Criots-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru from Hubert Lamy, a producer renowned for emphasizing freshness and minerality through high-density planting, showcases an intense yet delicate nose of white floral notes, nuts, dried fruit, spices, honey, and butter. The palate is full-bodied, rich, and endowed with a lovely mineral structure, leading to a long, pure finish. These wines are precise, linear, and intensely mineral, with exceptional purity and aging capacity.
🍴 This exquisite white Burgundy pairs beautifully with delicate fine fish or shellfish in rich sauces, smoked salmon, foie gras, pan-fried sea scallops, saffroned monkfish, or lobster thermidor.
🥂 Perfect for a celebratory dinner or a special occasion, this Grand Cru is über-drinkable today, yet its balletic structure and profound harmonies promise excellent aging potential for 7 to 10 years or more.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Hubert Lamy is a wine estate based in Saint-Aubin, Burgundy, France, producing well-regarded wines from that appellation. The majority of the domaine vineyards are in Saint-Aubin, with around two-thirds of the holdings are given to Chardonnay and the remaining third, Pinot Noir. The domain was established in 1973, but the Lamy family history of vine growing in Saint-Aubin dates back to 1640. Since setting up, Hubert Lamy has passed management of the domaine onto his son Olivier Lamy and his wife Karine.
