🏰 The 2003 vintage in Burgundy was notably warm, influencing the character of this Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru. This wine presents an intense ruby color, offering aromas of small red fruits, with some tasters noting black cherry and candied red cherries. The palate is airy with woody notes and a refreshing finish. Further complexity can be found in hints of game, smoke, nutty oak, and a sweet, deep, vinous character with a layered texture. 【Its complex terroir yields a supple, rich, and structured wine with significant aging potential】.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs beautifully with venison stew, roasted female deer with pepper and mashed celery, and mature cheeses like Soumaintrain.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated dinner, a special celebration, or a contemplative evening for Burgundy enthusiasts.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jacky Truchot-Martin is a now defunct wine producer formerly based in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, France, crafting a range of minimal-intervention Pinot Noir wines from local vineyards. Bottles of his wines (which are increasingly rare) are much sought-after on the secondary market. Truchot made wines at the domaine until his retirement in 2005. He sold off all his holdings except for a small portion of his vines in Clos Sorbés, near his home in Morey, for his own production and consumption.
