Michel Lafarge, Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru, 2015
🏰 Celebrated for its purity and winsome charm, the 2015 Michel Lafarge Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru is a stunning expression of Burgundy Pinot Noir. This vintage offers a perfumed and elegant bouquet, revealing high-toned and ethereal notes of 【bright red berries, griotte cherry, blood orange, and chalky soil tones】. The palate is wonderfully elegant, refined, and pure, with silky, ripe tannins, a deep core, and gorgeous purity, showcasing a base of almost pungent minerality on a strikingly refined and hugely long finish. Expect additional nuances of 【violet, lilac, lavender, tea, and plum】 as it evolves.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs beautifully with roasted poultry like duck or guinea fowl, game birds, mushroom risotto, or delicate pan-seared salmon. For a more adventurous pairing, try it with a light charcuterie board featuring subtle terrines.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party or a romantic evening, this wine is ready to impress now but also promises further complexity with a few more years in the cellar.
