Michel Lafarge, Volnay Clos Des Chenes 1er Cru, 2015
🏰【Michel Lafarge's Volnay Clos des Chenes 1er Cru 2015 is an utterly superb and profound Volnay, hailed as one of the vintage's best red wines from the Côte de Beaune, built for incredible longevity.】 This full-bodied and multidimensional Pinot Noir unfurls with a complex bouquet of raw cocoa, rose petal, orange rind, and red berries, leading to a deep palate with supple, satiny tannins, juicy acids, and considerable concentration. It is still very unevolved and requires significant patience to reveal its ultimate potential.
🍴 This powerful and elegant red Burgundy is an exceptional pairing for roasted game, beef bourguignon, truffle dishes, or mature hard cheeses. Its structure and depth can stand up to rich and flavorful cuisine.
🥂 A magnificent wine for serious collectors and those seeking a long-term investment. This wine is currently quite burly and will benefit immensely from a decade or more in the cellar, with an anticipated maturity extending to 2050 or even 2070. When ready, serve at cellar temperature (around 16-18°C or 60-64°F) and consider a longer decant (1-2 hours) to allow its profound complexity to emerge.
