🏰 Domaine François Raveneau is one of Chablis' most recognizable and highly sought-after names, with their top wines commanding significant prices. The 2001 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru comes from a vintage that Raveneau himself considered stronger than 2000, with ripe fruit and noble rot contributing extra richness. This wine has aged beautifully, presenting a light to medium yellow-gold color. Tasting notes reveal a mature profile with tart pear, green herb, mineral, chalk, and lime on the nose and palate, often accompanied by white flowers and sea shells. Despite its age, some bottles have shown remarkable youthfulness, with a viscous mouthfeel and a smooth, light character, hints of citrus, and a quinine finish. This is a 【highly sought-after Chablis from a legendary producer】.
🍴 Food pairing suggestions: This classic Chablis is an ideal partner for shellfish, crab, and lobster, where its minerality and acidity act like a squeeze of lemon. It also complements rich fish like salmon or tuna, and mild, soft cheeses.
🥂 Event suggestions: Perfect for a sophisticated seafood dinner, a special occasion celebrating fine white Burgundy, or a vertical tasting of Raveneau Chablis.
