Bouchard Pere & Fils, Beaune Clos De La Mousse 1er Cru, 2013
🏰 The 2013 Bouchard Pere & Fils Beaune Clos de la Mousse 1er Cru is a 【charming and elegant expression from an often-overlooked vintage, revealing its delicate charms with both fleshiness and refinement】. This Monopole Pinot Noir offers an attractive bouquet of smoky red berries, dried flowers, musk, and bergamot, with fruit aromas combined with light toasty notes. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, delicate, and supple, showcasing a pretty core of tangy red fruit, cherry, and strawberry, backed by a firm structure and balanced acidity. Powdery, largely melted tannins lead to a sapid, flavorful finish with fine length and purity. While delightful now, it still holds good aging potential and will continue to evolve beautifully.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs wonderfully with classic French bistro fare such as roasted chicken with herbs, pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce, or a selection of mild to medium aged cheeses. For an Asian touch, consider Cantonese char siu (BBQ pork) or a delicate steamed chicken with goji berries.
🥂 Perfect for a relaxed yet refined dinner with friends, a special Sunday lunch, or as a thoughtful gift for a Burgundy lover who appreciates nuanced and graceful wines.
