FEATURES
🏰Domaine Georges Roumier's Clos de la Bussière is an iconic Monopole 1er Cru from a legendary producer, from the exceptional 2005 vintage. Georges Roumier is a legendary Burgundy producer. The 2005 vintage for red Burgundy was superb, a "vintner's dream" with rich, full, and smoothly textural wines, retaining freshness and elegance, and built for long-term aging. Christophe Roumier considered 2005 a high point, describing it as a "classic vintage lending itself to very calm, classic vinification."
This 2005 Clos de la Bussière is deep, beautiful, and bottomless, offering a sappy mélange of 【black cherries, plums, dark chocolate, fresh herbs, and spice tones】, with a superb base of soil. It has a wonderful, sensuous palate with good delineation, showing 【black cherries, cassis, and a touch of graphite】. It's rich, full, and admirably intense, powerful yet supple, with a complex and minerally finish. It's still young and tight, needing time to fully open.
🍴 A wine of this caliber pairs best with classic French cuisine, such as roasted game, coq au vin, truffle-infused dishes, or aged Epoisses.
🥂 An iconic wine for a momentous celebration, a serious Burgundy collector's event, or a truly special, intimate dinner, with significant aging potential.
