Chantal Lescure, Pommard Les Bertins 1er Cru, 2022
🏰 The 2022 Chantal Lescure Pommard Les Bertins 1er Cru is a 【structured and elegant red Burgundy from an organically certified estate】, known for its respectful winemaking. This Premier Cru, from old vines on limestone soils in Pommard, promises a sumptuous experience with its dazzling deep ruby hue. While specific 2022 tasting notes are still emerging, expect enticing aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants interwoven with subtle hints of vanilla, leading to a palate with firm yet velvety tannins and generous red fruit flavors.
🍴 This classic Pinot Noir is an excellent match for red meats, beef tail a la vigneronne, veal, game, charcuterie, cured cheeses, or roasted duck and goose.
🥂 Ideal for a classic Burgundian dinner, a special occasion featuring rich meat dishes, or a tasting for discerning Pinot Noir aficionados.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Chantal Lescure was founded in 1975 by the husband and wife team Chantal Lescure and Xavier Machard de Gramont. They primarily cultivate Pinot Noir and a small amount of Chardonnay grapes. The estate spans approximately 18 hectares from Chambolle-Musigny in the Côte de Nuits to Volnay in the Côte de Beaune, a rarity in today's valuable Burgundy vineyard landscape. After Chantal's passing in 1996, her son Aymeric undertook a thorough restructuring of the estate and appointed François Chavériat as the estate manager.
