🏰Chantal Lescure's Beaune Chouacheux 1er Cru 2022 is a very young vintage from Burgundy, a region known for its elegant and expressive Pinot Noir. While specific vintage reports for 2022 in Beaune are still emerging, Burgundy generally experienced a promising growing season, suggesting wines with good fruit concentration and freshness. This 1er Cru is expected to offer 【a vibrant expression of red berries, delicate floral notes, and a subtle earthy minerality】, characteristic of Beaune Pinot Noir. It will likely be approachable in its youth but will benefit significantly from cellaring to develop greater complexity and harmony.
🍴 This youthful Beaune 1er Cru would pair beautifully with roasted chicken, pan-seared duck breast, or mushroom-based dishes. Its bright acidity and red fruit profile also make it a good match for charcuterie or mild, creamy cheeses. For a Cantonese pairing, consider roasted pigeon or a delicate soy-sauce braised pork belly.
🥂 Ideal for a special dinner, a gathering of Burgundy lovers, or as a wine to lay down for future enjoyment. It's a wine that promises elegance and a true taste of its terroir.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Chantal Lescure was founded in 1975 by the husband and wife team Chantal Lescure and Xavier Machard de Gramont. They primarily cultivate Pinot Noir and a small amount of Chardonnay grapes. The estate spans approximately 18 hectares from Chambolle-Musigny in the Côte de Nuits to Volnay in the Côte de Beaune, a rarity in today's valuable Burgundy vineyard landscape. After Chantal's passing in 1996, her son Aymeric undertook a thorough restructuring of the estate and appointed François Chavériat as the estate manager.
