🏰 The 2017 Burgundy vintage was generally very good, with reds showing 【magnificent balance, sweet, crystalline red fruit flavors, and a soft, silky, subtle tannic mouthfeel】. It was a year of normal yields and healthy fruit, with an early harvest resulting in fruity reds with moderate acidity and soft tannins. Coquard Loison Fleurot is a prestigious family-owned estate in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, known for its exceptional Pinot Noir. Their Clos Vougeot Grand Cru comes from old vines (average 70 years) and sees 50% new wood. The 2017 Clos Vougeot offers a bright bouquet of cherries, red plums, a lovely array of soil tones, woodsmoke, mustard seed, and spicy oak. The palate is deep, full-bodied, and nicely sappy at the core, with ripe tannins, fine focus, and a long, complex, soil-driven finish. It's a wine with plenty of fragrance, attractive fruit, lacy tannins, and strong terroir character.
🍴 This Grand Cru 布根地 would be superb with roasted game birds like pheasant or partridge, truffle pasta, or a classic coq au vin. For Cantonese cuisine, consider roasted squab, braised shiitake mushrooms with abalone sauce, or a delicate steamed chicken.
🥂 An excellent choice for a celebratory dinner, a significant milestone, or a serious tasting among 布根地 aficionados. It's approachable now but will continue to evolve beautifully.
