Lucien Le Moine, Batard Montrachet Grand Cru, 2014
🏰 Lucien Le Moine's 2014 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is from a renowned micro-négoce celebrated for 【high-quality, terroir-driven wines】, quickly gaining a reputation for exceptional Burgundy. This prestigious Grand Cru, crafted from Chardonnay, offers aromas of 【lime, clove, nutmeg, mint, menthol, and flint】. It is hugely concentrated yet tightly coiled, conveying a powerful saline impression of terroir. The palate is very dry, classic, and explosive on the aftertaste, with notes of butter, oak, vanilla, citrus, peach, apricot, and hints of toast and smoke.
🍴 This powerful white Burgundy pairs exquisitely with shellfish, rich fish like salmon or tuna, creamy pasta dishes, mild and soft cheeses, and even cured meats. For a more adventurous pairing, consider apple strudel purses in macadamia nut sauce or cheddar and apple stuffed pork chops.
🥂 This Grand Cru is built for ageing and will need a good decade of bottle aging before it approaches its peak. Ideal for a serious wine collector's cellar or a very special occasion. Serve well chilled at 12-14°C (54-57°F) to allow its complex layers to unfold.
