Richard Leroy is a cult winemaker in the Anjou region of the Loire Valley, famous for his uncompromising approach to Chenin Blanc. He farms organically and uses minimal sulfur, producing wines of incredible purity and tension. While he is best known for his dry Chenins today, his older sweet wines (Moelleux) from the Coteaux du Layon, like the Clos des Rouliers, are legendary for their balance of rich botrytis and electric acidity.
