🏰 The 2022 vintage in Burgundy is characterized by generosity and promise, with vines generally standing up well to extreme weather, allowing for stock replenishment after several years of low yields. Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat's Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru 'Les Suchots' 2022 is already receiving high praise, with Decanter scoring it 97/100. This exquisite wine is noted for its intense red and black fruit aromas with a floral edge and an almost salty savory intensity. The texture is silky yet tightly wound, and it's believed that the 100-year-old vines in the domaine's parcel contribute significantly to its special character. Wines from Les Suchots are renowned for their elegance, richness, and often display a mix of red and black fruits with characteristic Asian spices, licorice, and floral notes.
🍴 This elegant and complex red Burgundy would be a magnificent pairing for refined dishes. Consider roasted game birds like pheasant or partridge, pan-seared duck breast, or a delicate beef tenderloin with a red wine reduction. Its silky tannins and aromatic complexity also make it a superb match for mushroom-based dishes or aged Gruyère.
🥂 The Hudelot-Noëllat Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru 2022 is an ideal choice for a celebratory dinner, a significant milestone, or a serious tasting among Burgundy aficionados. It's a wine that promises to evolve beautifully over decades, making it a thoughtful gift for collectors. 【Exceptional elegance and aging potential】
BACKGROUND
Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat primarily cultivates Pinot Noir. The estate was founded in 1960 and is located in the village of Clos Vougeot. The original owner, Alain, married the granddaughter of the renowned Charles Noëllat from Vosne-Romanée, bringing with her several valuable vineyard plots as dowry. The vineyards are primarily located in Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, and Nuits-St-Georges, covering a total of 6.6 hectares. The estate is currently managed by Charles Van Canneyt. In 2005, winemaker Vincent Munier joined the team.
