Michel Lafarge, Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru, 2017
Red
750ml
Label : Good Label
Level : Neck Level
Capsule : Good Capsule
🏰 The 2017 vintage in Burgundy was a consistent and approachable year, offering both youthful charm and excellent aging potential. It was a year of normal yields and healthy fruit, free from major frosts or hailstorms, resulting in reds with magnificent balance, sweet, crystalline red fruit flavors, and a soft, silky tannic mouthfeel. Domaine Michel Lafarge is a historic, family-owned estate in Volnay, farming its 12 hectares of vineyards biodynamically since 2000, and is renowned for producing some of the greatest traditional Volnays. The 2017 reds are characterized by fragrance, attractive fruit, lacy tannins, and strong terroir character, making them exuberantly drinkable in their youth but also structured for graceful evolution. 【 From a consistent and approachable vintage, offering both youthful charm and aging potential 】
This Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru from 2017 is expected to embody the vintage's finesse. It will likely present magnificent balance with sweet, crystalline red fruit flavors. The nose should be fragrant with attractive red fruit, while the palate offers a soft, silky, subtle tannic mouthfeel and a strong reflection of its terroir. These wines are considered more serious than some earlier 'restaurant vintages,' suggesting good structure for aging.
🍴 This elegant red 布根地 is a superb match for roasted poultry, such as guinea fowl or duck, mushroom-based dishes like truffle pasta, or lighter game. It also pairs wonderfully with soft, creamy cheeses.
🥂 Ideal for a celebratory dinner, a gathering of Burgundy connoisseurs, or for enjoying over the next decade as it gracefully develops further complexity.
