🏰【The only Champagne to have achieved every organic and biodynamic certification】, Lanson Le Green Champagne is a testament to sustainable viticulture and expresses the quintessence of its terroir. Lanson was one of the first Champagne Houses to offer an organic Champagne in its permanent range, with Le Green Label Organic being carefully made with grapes from Domaine de la Malmaison, a 16-hectare pilot vineyard in the Marne Valley, one of the largest biodynamically farmed estates in Champagne. The blend typically consists of Pinot Noir (46-50%), Chardonnay (30-36%), and Pinot Meunier (18-20%), with a lack of malolactic fermentation and low dosage emphasizing the fruit's natural vibrancy and purity. The packaging was revamped in April 2023 to include more detailed information on the back label, reflecting Lanson's transparent approach. This Champagne presents a golden color with amber shimmers and fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, it reveals intense fruity flavors of blackcurrant, white-fleshed fruits like pear and peach, a hint of citrus, mingling with mineral, smoky, and Eastern spice notes. The palate offers great vitality with ripe fruit flavors such as pear, mirabelle plum, a hint of exotic fruits, and spice notes, leading to a long, fresh finish with profound minerality. Some notes also mention hints of marzipan, vanilla-infused pastry cream, lemon pith, chalk, and a racy, fresh style with green apple and lime.
🍴 It pairs beautifully with raw dishes like an oyster platter, blue-veined cheese such as Fourme d'Ambert, or various mushroom preparations like savarin with ceps and wild herbs and mushrooms sauce. Other suggestions include shrimp cocktail, light salads, goat cheese, prosciutto, and spicy Thai food.
🥂 This vibrant and pure Champagne is perfect for celebrations, aperitifs, or as an elegant accompaniment to a sophisticated meal, especially for those who appreciate organic and biodynamic wines. Its freshness and vitality make it suitable for a wide range of occasions, from casual gatherings to more formal events.
