🏰 The 2015 vintage is widely acclaimed as a great year for Barolo. Despite a very hot summer, cooler weather during harvest, coupled with good water reserves from winter and spring rains, and light rain in October, helped prevent overripeness. Nebbiolo grapes ripened exceptionally well and were remarkably healthy, resulting in wines with higher acidity and better colour stability compared to other hot years. The 2015 Barolos are vibrant, exuberantly fragrant, displaying red fruit flavours alongside powerful yet fine tannins, with excellent balance and focus. The overall quality across the board for 2015 Barolos is notably consistent. 【A "great modern vintage" for Barolo, offering vibrant fragrance, powerful yet fine tannins, and excellent aging potential.】
🍴 This Barolo is a classic pairing for rich meat dishes, especially those featuring truffles, such as tagliatelle al tartufo or beef carpaccio with truffle oil. It also complements aged cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano, and hearty pasta dishes with a robust ragu. For an Eastern pairing, consider a rich, slow-cooked lamb stew with aromatic spices or a deeply flavoured mushroom hotpot.
🥂 The 2015 Barolo vintage is ideal for drinking over the next decade, with many wines showing good aging potential for up to 20 years or more. This makes it a superb choice for a significant dinner, a celebratory event, or as a valuable addition to any serious wine cellar.
BACKGROUND
