🏰 Domaine Claude Dugat is unequivocally a top-tier star winery in Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy, and is considered one of France's most respected winemakers. Robert Parker even rated it as 【"The World's Greatest Wine Estate"】. Claude Dugat himself was mentored by the legendary Henri Jayer, often referred to as Jayer's successor. The winery owns a mere 6 hectares of vineyards, some with vines over 70 years old, and maintains extremely low yields of around 1800 liters per hectare, making their wines exceptionally rare and sought after. The 2022 vintage for Griotte Chambertin Grand Cru is expected to continue the tradition of producing wines with excellent concentration and complexity, yet with elegance and finesse. The wines are known for their appealing fruit and spice notes, with a rich, pure, and extremely pleasing palate, and fine tannins.
🍴 This Grand Cru Burgundy, with its elegance and depth, would be an exquisite pairing for classic French cuisine such as roasted duck breast with cherry sauce, coq au vin, or fine cuts of beef like filet mignon. For a more adventurous pairing, consider dishes with truffles or wild mushrooms.
🥂 This wine is perfectly suited for a significant celebration, a prestigious wine tasting event, or a special anniversary dinner. Its rarity and critical acclaim make it a centerpiece for any serious wine collector's gathering.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Claude Dugat is a Burgundian producer in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. This prestigious small winery produces only a small amount of Pinot Noir wine, with its most popular wines coming from designated Grand Crus. The domaine was founded by Claude's father in 1955, when he purchased a 13th-century building and converted it into a winery and cellar. Dugat bottles three Grand Cru red wines from Griotte-Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Charmes-Chambertin, as well as two Premier Cru wines.
