🏰 The 2001 Bâtard-Montrachet from Leflaive is described as absolutely stunning and everything one could ask for. It shows the mellow patina a Grand Cru white 布根地 should at age twenty. While not a genuinely great vintage by Leflaive Bâtard's elevated standards, it is an exceptionally good example in the context of the vintage.
The aromatics are breathtaking, with an expressive and still nicely fresh nose including white flower, pronounced honey, and softly exotic fruit aromas nuanced by spice and wood hints. On the palate, it is vibrant with the oiliness and texture of Bâtard, but no excess weight. Notes of orange confit, spice, almond paste, honey, and a kiss of new oak open with air. It offers excellent volume to the delicious and extract-rich medium-weight plus flavors. 【 An emotionally moving wine of the very highest level, showcasing breathtaking aromatics and vibrant texture 】
🍴 This rich and complex white 布根地 would be magnificent with roasted chicken with truffles, lobster in butter sauce, or rich seafood dishes.
🥂 A truly special wine for a significant anniversary, a gourmet dinner, or a serious white 布根地 tasting.
