FEATURES
🏰 【The 2021 Faiveley Corton Clos des Cortons Grand Cru is a powerful and concentrated red Burgundy, a monopole owned by the Faiveley family since 1874, offering a compelling expression of this great site with excellent mid-palate richness and a very polished finish.】 Alongside Romanée-Conti, this is one of only two Burgundy Grand Crus to bear the name of its owner, standing as the domaine's flagship wine. The vineyard soil is dominated by limestone, marl, and clay, strewn with ferruginous oolite. The 2021 vintage is described as crunchy, vivid, and refreshing, with impressively smooth tannins.
Ruby red in color with clear purple reflections. The nose is powerful and concentrated, exuding notes of black cherry and spice, evolving into raspberry, blackberry, and currant with a salty mineral edge. The palate is rich and smooth with good energy and concentration, offering cherry, raspberry, floral, sandalwood, and oak spice aromas and flavors. It gains depth from earth and mineral notes, building to a long, intense, and elegant finish.
🍴 Excellent with roasted duck, goose, game birds, beef, veal, poultry, and game. Also pairs well with earthy dishes like mushroom risotto or truffle-infused cuisine.
🥂 An excellent wine for cellar aging, this Grand Cru will require six to eight years to hit its stride, making it perfect for collectors and those seeking a profound and age-worthy Burgundy for special occasions.
