FEATURES
🏰news | features + short tasting note The Meo Camuzet Echezeaux Les Rouges du Bas Grand Cru 2003 is a magnificent expression of Pinot Noir from a renowned Grand Cru vineyard, celebrated for its 【structure, depth, and evolving complexity】. Echézeaux wines are known for their firm and precise tannins, offering a complex aromatic profile of black fruits, sweet spices, and hints of smoke and lichen, which deepen with age to include forest floor, truffle, and cocoa notes. This 2003 vintage, now with significant maturity, promises a persistent, smooth mineral finish. 🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing various types of suggestion east or west corresponding to wine cost IN ENGLISH This powerful and elegant Grand Cru is an exceptional match for rich and sophisticated dishes. Consider a classic roast duck with a red fruit sauce, beef Wellington, or a wild mushroom risotto. For a luxurious Cantonese pairing, a slow-braised oxtail or a rich claypot chicken with Chinese mushrooms would be superb. It also beautifully complements aged cheeses like Époisses or Brillat-Savarin. 🥂 fit for event suggestion IN ENGLISH A magnificent wine for a grand dinner, a special celebration, or a serious tasting of fine Burgundy. It's a wine to be savored and appreciated for its profound character. *Serving Suggestion for Older Wines:* For this 2003 vintage, decanting for 1-2 hours is highly recommended to allow it to open up fully and to separate any potential sediment. Be mindful of older corks and capsules. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F) to best appreciate its evolved complexities and tertiary aromas.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
