🏰 The 2021 Domaine Prieuré Roch Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a red Burgundy that, despite the challenging 2021 vintage, offers a distinctive expression. It presents a dark ruby color with a nose of dark chocolate and licorice, alongside notes of sour cherry, red currants, marinade, and tobacco. On the palate, it is fleshy and dense, with high acidity and flavors of cranberry, sour cherry, and marinade. The finish is tannic, long, and intense, showing good nerve and energy. This wine is also noted as an organic wine without sulfur added. 【A Grand Cru wine known for its fleshy and dense palate with a long, intense finish, reflecting the unique Prieuré Roch style of minimal intervention】.
🍴 This elegant Pinot Noir would pair beautifully with roasted poultry like duck or chicken, earthy mushroom dishes such as risotto or tarts, or classic coq au vin. Lighter game dishes would also be a good match.
🥂 Ideal for a fine dining experience, a Burgundy-focused tasting, or a special occasion for those who appreciate biodynamic and natural wine philosophies. Given its youth, it could benefit from decanting or further cellaring to allow its complexities to unfold.
