history
Chateau Thenac has a rich history dating back to 1109, when it was originally founded as a Benedictine priory. The priory was destroyed during the Protestant Rebellions of 1621, and a new chateau was built on its ruins1. Over the centuries, the estate changed hands several times until it was acquired by the Shvidler family in 2001.
