🏰The 2022 Louis Jadot Chambertin Grand Cru is a 【Burgundian icon embodying power and elegance】, from a vintage proving to be excellent for Burgundy. This Pinot Noir boasts a powerful palate of black cherry, spice, and earth, with a velvety texture and a lingering finish that reflects its exceptional quality and depth. Critics praise its well-defined bouquet with brambly red fruit, briar, forest floor, and a touch of rose petal, noting its elegance and refinement. It's a wine that is both generous and structured, with expansive fruit flavors that linger on the palate.
🍴 This magnificent Grand Cru pairs beautifully with sophisticated dishes such as meat in sauce, game, and strong cheeses. For an exquisite Asian pairing, consider roasted Peking duck, braised venison with star anise, or a rich Cantonese beef stew.
🥂 An outstanding choice for a significant celebration, a serious wine collector's tasting, or a luxurious gift. While tempting to drink now, it is best from 2029 and will improve in the bottle for 20 to 25 years.
BACKGROUND
Louis Jadot is a prominent Burgundy wine producer and négociant. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the primary grape varieties featured. The house was established in Beaune in 1859 by Louis Jadot. The company has seen several leadership changes: Gagey's son Pierre-Henry took over as president in 1991, Gagey died in 1999, and Lardière retired in 2012. Frédéric Barnier, who joined in 2010, is now the head winemaker, and Thibault Gagey has joined his father Pierre-Henry in leading the firm.
