Meo Camuzet, Vosne Romanee Aux Brulees 1er Cru, 2022
🏰 From a highly acclaimed producer, the 2022 Meo Camuzet Vosne Romanee Aux Brulees 1er Cru is a 【powerful and aristocratic Burgundy Premier Cru】, offering immense potential for complexity and longevity from a promising vintage. This wine, crafted from mostly 80+ year old vines, presents an overtly floral and highly perfumed nose with notes of spice, red and dark cherry, exotic jasmine tea, smoky plums, orange zest, and raw cocoa. The palate is beautifully textured, layered, and vibrant, with refined, firm tannins, a mineral core, and a long, savory finish, hinting at its future majesty. It's a slow developer, ideally cellared until at least 2032.
🍴 An exquisite pairing for refined dishes such as roast duck, lamb, venison, or mushroom risotto. It also complements Asian cuisine like Peking duck and char siu pork, as well as aged cheeses.
🥂 A prestigious choice for grand celebrations, a cornerstone for serious Burgundy collectors, or a long-term investment for future enjoyment.
Serving: This is a very young wine with significant aging potential. If opened now, it demands a long decant (2-4 hours or more) to allow its complex aromas and flavors to emerge. Serve at 15-17°C (59-63°F). Ideally, cellar this treasure until at least 2032 for optimal enjoyment.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
