🏰From the esteemed Meo Camuzet, the 2011 Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 1er Cru is a prime example of a 【powerful yet elegant red Burgundy, known for its depth and aging potential】. Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru wines are typically firm and structured in their youth, evolving to reveal complex aromas of dark fruits, earth, and spice. The 2011 vintage in Burgundy was generally classic, offering wines with good freshness and structure. Expect a wine with a solid core of dark fruit, evolving notes of leather, truffle, and savory characteristics, with firm yet integrated tannins.
🍴 This robust 1er Cru is an excellent match for rare red meats, such as a prime rib of beef or tournedos with green pepper. As it matures, it will also pair beautifully with roast duck, game birds, or subtly flavored game dishes.
🥂 Perfect for a celebratory dinner, a serious wine tasting, or a special occasion that calls for a distinguished and age-worthy red Burgundy. Serve at 16-18°C. A decant of 1-2 hours would be beneficial to allow the wine to open up and express its full aromatic complexity.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
