Château Charmail is an estate in the Haut-Médoc located on the right bank of the Gironde river. The château's portfolio includes a grand vin made primarily from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as a second wine, Tours de Charmail. The vineyard dates back to the 17th Century and now comprises 28 hectares (68 acres) of vines planted in a single parcel. It faces south and is planted to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and a small quantity of Petit Verdot. The soils are largely made up of gravel and clay and, along with the mild climate, are perfectly suited to grape growing.
