750ml

🏰 The 2020 vintage in Burgundy is noted for its concentration and excellent acidity, even in a warm year, making for wines that are both expressive and built to age. Jean-Jacques Confuron's Nuits St Georges Les Chaboeufs 1er Cru 2020 is a brilliant example of this, offering 【liqueur-like aromas of ripe dark currant, hints of earth, pepper, and crushed fennel】. This wine showcases excellent volume and richness, with full-bodied, muscular flavors and impressive power on a complex, mildly rustic, and persistent finish. It's a very 'Nuits' in style, promising significant aging potential.
🍴 This powerful Nuits-Saint-Georges pairs wonderfully with hearty, flavorful dishes. Consider roasted lamb with herbs, beef bourguignon, wild boar ragu, or strong, aged cheeses. For an Eastern touch, try it with a rich Cantonese braised beef brisket or a deeply flavored Peking duck.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated dinner party, a special occasion celebrating a significant achievement, or a serious tasting session where its complexity can be fully appreciated. This wine will benefit from decanting to allow its robust character to unfold.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jean Jacques Confuron is a wine producer located in Premeaux, near Nuits-Saint-Georges in the Côte de Nuits, Burgund, France. The viticultural portfolio is now approximately 95-percent Pinot Noir with small plantings of Chardonnay and Aligoté. The domaine has 8 hectares (19 acres) of vines across 14 appellations, including plots in the prestigious grand cru vineyards Clos de Vougeot and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. The domaine began with the marriage of Jean Confuron and Anne Marie Bouchard in 1926, bringing together the vineyards of two different families. These vineyards have been passed through the family since, and the domaine has expanded as well, picking up plots in the prestigious grand cru sites.
