🏰 The 2020 vintage in Burgundy, including Beaune, was characterized by warm, sunny conditions and an exceptionally early harvest, largely completed in August. It's widely regarded as an excellent vintage, producing wines with remarkable freshness, density, and balanced alcohol levels. The reds, in particular, are noted for their complexity and structured profile, though some may show slightly higher alcohol. 【The first vintage to be completely harvested in August, showcasing remarkable freshness and density.】 These wines are ripe yet incredibly fresh, thanks to good natural tartaric acidity, making them vibrant and full of potential.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs beautifully with classic dishes such as roasted duck breast with cherry sauce, coq au vin, or mushroom risotto. For a more Eastern touch, consider Peking duck or a delicate stir-fry with shiitake mushrooms.
🥂 Perfect for a celebratory dinner, a special anniversary, or as a thoughtful gift for a Burgundy enthusiast. Its vitality means it can be enjoyed now or cellared for many years to come.
BACKGROUND
Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy's most important wine producers, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir, with a small portion being Chardonnay. Founded in Beaune in 1880, the domaine has expanded throughout the 20th Century to include vineyards in Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise, making everything from simple, village-level cuvées to highly priced grand cru and premier cru wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
