🏰 The 2013 Marquis d'Angerville Volnay Taillepieds 1er Cru is a 【classic expression of Volnay's elegance and precision, highly sought after by Burgundy connoisseurs】. The 2013 vintage in Burgundy was challenging but produced wines of freshness and purity, particularly for Pinot Noir, with lower yields leading to concentrated flavors. This wine typically offers delicate aromas of red berries, violets, and earthy undertones, with a vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins on the palate, promising good aging potential.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs beautifully with roasted duck breast with cherry sauce, pan-seared salmon, mushroom risotto, or a delicate coq au vin. For an Asian twist, consider Cantonese-style steamed chicken with ginger and scallions, or a light char siu.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a romantic anniversary celebration, or a thoughtful gift for a Burgundy lover.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Marquis d'Angerville is a Burgundy producer focusing on Pinot Noir from highly regarded vineyards in the Côte du Beaune, France. The domaine gained fame in the 1920s when it began to make and bottle its own wine, at a time when the common practice was for élevage and bottling to take place in the hands of négociants. Marquis d'Angerville circumvented the négociants entirely by commercializing its own wine, becoming one of the leading producers to do so. Since the death of Jacques D’Angerville in 2003, the running of the estate is currently overseen by his son Guillaume.
