🏰 The 2015 Duroche Gevrey Chambertin Aux Etelois is a highly regarded Burgundy from a celebrated vintage, known for producing wines of both power and elegance. 【Duroche is a rising star in Gevrey-Chambertin, and their Aux Etelois is consistently praised for its purity of fruit and excellent expression of its terroir.】 The 2015 vintage in Burgundy was generally warm and dry, yielding wines with ripe fruit, good concentration, and supple tannins, making them approachable in youth but also capable of aging. While specific detailed tasting notes for the 2015 Aux Etelois are not widely available, Gevrey-Chambertin wines from this vintage typically offer a rich aromatic profile of dark red and black fruits, often with notes of cherry, blackberry, and plum, intertwined with earthy undertones, spice, and sometimes a hint of game or licorice. The palate would likely be full-bodied and structured, with fine-grained tannins and a long, savory finish, showcasing both the generosity of the vintage and the precision of Duroche's winemaking.
🍴 This Gevrey Chambertin Aux Etelois would be an excellent companion to classic Burgundian cuisine and other refined dishes. Consider roasted game, such as venison or wild boar, pan-seared duck breast, or slow-cooked beef dishes like Boeuf Bourguignon. It also pairs beautifully with mushroom-based dishes, truffle pasta, or mature, earthy cheeses. The wine's structure and fruit intensity can also complement grilled lamb or pork tenderloin.
🥂 Ideal for a special dinner, a gathering of Burgundy enthusiasts, or a celebratory meal. Its balance of ripeness and structure makes it enjoyable now with proper aeration, but it also possesses the potential for further development in the cellar. Decanting for 1-2 hours before serving is recommended to allow its complex aromas to unfold. Serve at a cool cellar temperature (around 16-18°C) in Burgundy-specific glasses to enhance the aromatic experience.
