FEATURES
WE: This blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot is inky black, with powerful aromas of currants, oak, vanilla, green olives and smoke. The rich, spicy fruit is there, buried deep below Washington tannins that will take a while to melt. But the wait should yield a beautiful, deeply flavorful wine.
🏆Robert Parker Green Emblem Award Global 16 wineries. ✅ Listed in Wine Spectator magazine's Top 100 Wines.
BACKGROUND
Hedges Family Estate is a renowned small family winery in Red Mountain, Yakima Valley, Washington, USA. Founded in 1987, the estate began with a Cabernet-Merlot blend from Columbia Valley. In 1989, owners Tom and Annie-Marie Hedges acquired 50 acres in Red Mountain, planting 40 acres with Bordeaux grape varieties. By 1990, their Cabernet-Merlot blend earned a gold medal from the Seattle Wine Society, expanding their market across North America. The estate donates 10% of annual profits to charity. Hedges Family Estate emphasizes the terroir and natural flavors of their grapes, using only natural yeast for fermentation.
