FEATURES
🏰 The 2019 Champagne vintage, despite facing weather challenges like frosts and heatwaves, ultimately yielded high-quality wines with ripe grapes that retained aromatic character. Coessens' Largillier Brut Nature 2019 is a single-vintage, single-varietal (100% Pinot Noir) Champagne, exclusively sourced from the 'Mineral' sub-plot of the Largillier monopole. This particular plot, with its higher limestone content, imparts a pronounced mineral character to the wine. As a Brut Nature, no dosage is added, allowing the pure expression of its terroir. Tasting notes describe an assertive lemony style with spicy, smoky aromas and cooked fruit, leading to a lean palate with frothy bubbles and a refreshing finish. It is light-bodied, tight, and fruity, with attractive grapefruit, lightly spiced, woody aromas, and a gentle chalky edge. The palate is very smooth, supple, and fresh, with vibrant grapefruit and fresh cashew nuts, culminating in a long, dry finish. It also offers notes of brioche, almonds, lime, citrus, apple, stone, and a lively, energetic, and very mineral profile with a fine bitterness. Jérôme Coessens, who began crafting Champagne from Largillier in 2006, vinifies his wines with a Burgundian sensibility, focusing on the multi-faceted terroir. 【A rare, single-vintage, single-vineyard (Largillier 'Mineral' plot) 100% Pinot Noir Brut Nature Champagne, showcasing pronounced minerality and terroir expression.】
🍴 This Brut Nature Champagne is magnificent as an aperitif and an excellent match for roast poultry and soft-rind cheeses such as Époisse. It also pairs beautifully with shellfish, crab, and lobster. Its high acidity makes it a versatile food-pairing wine.
🥂 This expressive and mineral-driven Champagne is perfect for celebratory toasts, sophisticated aperitifs, or as an accompaniment to a gourmet seafood dinner. It is drinking well now, with potential for further aging.
