🏰Jean-Yves Bizot is a cult natural wine producer in Burgundy, whose meticulous biodynamic practices and extremely limited production make even his Bourgogne Rouge highly sought after for its purity and terroir expression. The 2017 Burgundy vintage was generally good, offering charming and approachable wines. Expect a vibrant and pure expression of Pinot Noir, with 【bright red berry fruits, delicate floral notes, earthy undertones, and a silky texture, often with a delightful freshness that sings on the palate】.
🍴 This versatile red pairs beautifully with roasted chicken, charcuterie boards, mushroom dishes, or lighter pasta. For an Asian pairing, consider Cantonese steamed chicken or a light dim sum selection.
🥂 A fantastic wine for a casual yet elegant dinner, a gathering of natural wine enthusiasts, or a delightful everyday indulgence that elevates any meal.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jean Yves Bizot is a small Burgundy wine producer located in the Côte de Nuits, making Pinot Noir on several small plots of the Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru vineyard and the Grand Cru chézeaux vineyard. It also produces small amounts of Chardonnay at the village and Burgundy Blanc levels, and has plots in Massanai and Burgundy Chapit. The total area of the estate is just over three hectares. The current incarnation of the domaine was founded in 1995, when Jean Yves Bizot, a professor of oenology, inherited the domaine and vineyards from his family and followed a largely unconventional winemaking process.
