🏰The 2021 Denis Mortet Bonnes Mares Grand Cru comes from a vintage where yields were significantly affected, resulting in one of Burgundy's smallest harvests, yet produced reds that are 【harmonious, elegant, and full of freshness】. This Grand Cru Pinot Noir displays a bright, intense ruby-red color. Expect a complex bouquet of Morello cherry, cherrywood, raspberry, and sometimes a discreet touch of tobacco, evolving with age to notes of truffle and musk. The palate offers a powerful perfume of violets and red berries, leading to a fruity richness laced with subtle yet robust tannins, showcasing a good balance between structure and texture with a remarkably long aftertaste.
🍴 This powerful and structured red Burgundy is a must-have with all gamey meats, whether roasted or in a rich sauce. It pairs exquisitely with delicate, sauced red meat dishes, such as roasted game, beef, lamb, or pork, especially with creamy sauces or spicy seasonings. Strong cheeses like Époisses or other mature cheeses are also ideal partners.
🥂 This wine is perfect for a grand celebratory dinner, a special anniversary, or a serious tasting session with fellow connoisseurs. Its depth and aging potential make it a fantastic addition to any cellar, ready to impress on a momentous occasion.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Denis Mortet is located in northern Burgundy and is famous for producing high-quality Pinot Noir wine. It is produced in a modern style and has a delicate taste. The domaine currently occupies 11.2 hectares (27 acres) and has also purchased part of the Le Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard. The winery was founded in 1956 when Charles Mortet purchased a hectare of vineyard and began selling fruit to merchants. Mortet's son Denis and his wife Laurence started working at the estate in 1978 and took over and established Domaine Denis Mortet in the early 1990s.
