FEATURES
🏰 The 1989 Drouhin Laroze Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is a 【testament to a superb Burgundy vintage】, offering a rare opportunity to experience the profound evolution of a Grand Cru. While specific notes for this bottle are scarce, the 1989 vintage in Burgundy is celebrated for producing ripe, rich, and concentrated wines with excellent aging potential. Expect a complex bouquet of tertiary aromas like forest floor, truffle, and aged leather, interwoven with hints of dried red fruits and exotic spices, showcasing the power and elegance typical of Bonnes Mares. 🍴 This mature Grand Cru Burgundy is exquisite with roasted game birds, slow-cooked beef bourguignon, or rich mushroom dishes. For an elevated pairing, consider aged Comte or Gruyere cheese. 🥂 An exceptional choice for a milestone anniversary, a significant birthday celebration, or a contemplative tasting session with fellow Burgundy enthusiasts. *Serving Suggestion for Old Wine:* For wines of this venerable age, expect a delicate style. The cork and capsule may be fragile, so careful opening is advised. Decant gently for 30-60 minutes to allow the wine to breathe and shed any sediment, but be mindful not to over-aerate. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16-18°C (60-64°F).
BACKGROUND
Domaine Drouhin-Laroze is a wine producer based in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate mainly produces red wine from Burgundy's flagship grape variety, Pinot Noir. Representing a range of quality levels, from Grand Cru to "Country". Originating from the Gevrey vineyard acquired by viticulturist Jean-Baptiste Laroze in 1850, the domaine has been passed down through generations of the Laroze family and continued to expand with the marriage of Suzanne Laroze to Alexandre Drouhin in 1919. With 11.5 hectares (28.5 acres) of vineyards spread throughout Burgundy, it is run by the fifth and sixth generations of the family.
