🏰 The 1995 Denis Mortet Chambertin Grand Cru is a fascinating example of a mature 布根地, showcasing a modern style that was beginning to drink well as of 2017. This vintage is noted for its concentration of fruit and supple, fulsome tannins, indicating good aging potential. Reviewers have described it as having an airy nose with leafy, spicy, and mineral notes. On the palate, it offers an open, succulent, and elegant profile, with tea leaves, candied cherry, and a touch of earth on the finish. While some note a lack of richness compared to great Chambertin years, it is considered a very nicely made wine. The wine is of outstanding quality and, as of recent reviews, is drinking at its apogee, though its condition can vary by bottle. Tannins are well-integrated, leading to a long finish. 【現代風格布根地名莊的成功老年份佳釀】.
🥂 This Chambertin Grand Cru is ideal for a significant milestone celebration or a sophisticated tasting event focused on mature 布根地. Its complexity and developed character make it a contemplative wine for connoisseurs.
For a wine of this age, careful handling is paramount. The cork may be fragile, so use a Durand opener or a two-pronged cork puller if available. Stand the bottle upright for at least 24-48 hours before serving to allow any sediment to settle. Decanting is recommended to separate the wine from sediment and allow it to breathe, but do so gently and observe the wine's evolution closely, as very old wines can fade quickly. Serve at cellar temperature, around 16-18°C (60-64°F).
🍴 This elegant Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with classic French cuisine such as roasted game birds, duck confit, or a delicate beef bourguignon. Its earthy notes would also complement mushroom-based dishes or aged, firm cheeses.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Denis Mortet is located in northern Burgundy and is famous for producing high-quality Pinot Noir wine. It is produced in a modern style and has a delicate taste. The domaine currently occupies 11.2 hectares (27 acres) and has also purchased part of the Le Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard. The winery was founded in 1956 when Charles Mortet purchased a hectare of vineyard and began selling fruit to merchants. Mortet's son Denis and his wife Laurence started working at the estate in 1978 and took over and established Domaine Denis Mortet in the early 1990s.
