🏰 The 2022 Dugat-Py Monthelie Rouge, crafted from exceptionally old vines, is a rare Burgundy red that promises depth, elegance, and finesse. The 2022 vintage in Burgundy saw contrasting climatic hazards but ultimately offered good quality grapes and promising aromatic complexity. Expect vibrant red fruit, floral notes, and subtle spice, layered with silky tannins and mineral precision. It's described as a very good Monthelie that is floral and fruity, with a pale ruby color and a developing nose of ripe raspberry, strawberry, charred wood, mushrooms, and violet. The palate offers ripe raspberry, red cherry, charred wood, mushrooms, and forest floor, with high acidity and light tannins, leading to a long, dry finish. 【 Crafted from exceptionally old vines, offering immediate charm and excellent cellaring potential 】. This wine is a standout cuvée from one of Burgundy's most respected domaines.
🍴 This Monthelie Rouge pairs well with duck, mushrooms, or veal. Its vibrant red fruit and silky tannins would also complement roasted poultry, lighter game, or mushroom-based dishes.
🥂 Ideal for a special dinner, a gathering of Burgundy enthusiasts, or a quiet evening where a refined and expressive red Burgundy is desired. It offers both immediate charm and excellent cellaring potential.
