Jean Chartron, Chevalier Montrachet Clos Des Chevaliers Grand Cru, 1999
🏰 The 1999 Jean Chartron Chevalier Montrachet Clos des Chevaliers Grand Cru is a 【monopole from one of Burgundy's most esteemed white Grand Crus】, representing a vintage known for richness and balance. This exceptional white Burgundy, now with significant age, offers a complex tapestry of aromas including white flowers, honey, toasted nuts, and profound minerality. On the palate, it is rich, full-bodied, and vibrant, with developing tertiary notes of truffle and savory complexity, leading to a long, lingering finish.
🍴 This luxurious white wine demands equally refined pairings such as grilled lobster with butter sauce, pan-seared foie gras, rich fish dishes like turbot or halibut, or poultry in a creamy sauce. For cheese lovers, mature Comté or Gruyère would be a sublime match.
🥂 An ideal choice for milestone celebrations, a truly luxurious tasting experience, or for serious Burgundy collectors looking to enjoy a perfectly aged Grand Cru.
For a 1999 Grand Cru white Burgundy, careful handling is paramount. The cork may be fragile, so use a suitable opener. Decant only if significant sediment is present, and for a very short period, or simply pour carefully. Serve slightly chilled, around 12-14°C (54-57°F), to allow its complex aromas to unfold without being dulled by excessive cold.
