🏰 The 2005 Méo-Camuzet Corton Le Rognet Grand Cru hails from a superb Burgundy vintage, widely regarded as one of the greatest of the 21st century to date. This Pinot Noir is crafted from old vines planted in the 1920s within the esteemed Corton Clos Rognet vineyard, known for its astonishing aging capacity that can even surpass other Côte de Nuits Grand Crus. The wine presents a very fresh nose with hints of menthol, game, smoke, and subtle spice, alongside predominantly red fruit aromas like strawberry, raspberry, and black cherry. On the palate, it is fine and silky, yet underpinned by firm, structured tannins, delivering powerful, broad-scaled flavors with excellent verve and mineral-driven length. It's described as dense, deep, silky, and well-structured, with a drinking window that extends for decades. 【Superb 2005 vintage from old vines, offering astonishing aging capacity and evolving complexity】.
🍴 This profound red 布根地 (Burgundy) wine is an excellent match for duck, goose, and other game birds. Its complexity also complements roasted chicken, mushroom-based dishes, and lighter red meats.
🥂 The 2005 Méo-Camuzet Corton Le Rognet Grand Cru is a truly special occasion wine, perfect for a significant celebration, a serious 布根地 (Burgundy) tasting, or as a prized addition to a collector's cellar. Given its age and structure, aeration is highly recommended to allow its intricate layers to unfold.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
