🏰 The 2004 Drouhin Laroze Musigny Grand Cru is a 【rare and highly sought-after Burgundy, showcasing the elegance and finesse of this prestigious vineyard】. Despite a challenging vintage in Burgundy, Drouhin Laroze managed to produce a wine with delicate red fruit aromas, floral notes, and a subtle earthy complexity. It's a refined expression of Pinot Noir, with a silky texture and a long, graceful finish that speaks to its Grand Cru pedigree.
🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing: This elegant red Burgundy calls for delicate yet flavorful dishes. Pan-seared duck breast with a cherry reduction, steamed garoupa with ginger and spring onion, or even a refined mushroom risotto would be excellent choices. For a lighter option, consider roasted pigeon.
🥂 fit for event suggestion: Ideal for a romantic dinner, a sophisticated tasting session with fellow Burgundy lovers, or a special occasion where subtlety and elegance are paramount.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Drouhin-Laroze is a wine producer based in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate mainly produces red wine from Burgundy's flagship grape variety, Pinot Noir. Representing a range of quality levels, from Grand Cru to "Country". Originating from the Gevrey vineyard acquired by viticulturist Jean-Baptiste Laroze in 1850, the domaine has been passed down through generations of the Laroze family and continued to expand with the marriage of Suzanne Laroze to Alexandre Drouhin in 1919. With 11.5 hectares (28.5 acres) of vineyards spread throughout Burgundy, it is run by the fifth and sixth generations of the family.
