🏰 The 2021 Burgundy vintage, though challenging with severe April frosts and mildew, yielded a more classic style of red wines, characterized by 【freshness, elegance, and lower alcohol】. This Gevrey Chambertin offers delightful aromas of red fruit and flowers, with a delicate palate, light, finely textured tannins, and crisp, bright freshness. It's a red-fruit driven vintage, showcasing cherries, soft summer fruits, and sometimes blueberry, with juicy freshness and crunch.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs beautifully with roasted duck breast, mushroom risotto, or coq au vin. For an Asian twist, consider Cantonese-style roasted pigeon or pan-fried beef tenderloin with black pepper sauce.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party or a quiet evening enjoying a classic, lighter-styled Burgundy.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Tortochot is a wine producer headquartered in the village of Gevre-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits subdivision in the northern part of the Côte d'Or in Burgundy. It specializes in the production of wines from the Pinot Noir grape variety and is famous for its wines from three premier vineyards. The winery also has four special wines, produced from their respective Grand Cru vineyards. The Tortochot family's viticultural history in Gevrey-Chambertin dates back four generations to 19th-century winemaker Paul Tortochot, and the current 12 hectare (30 acres) estate continues to be passed down to descendants.
