Prieure Roch, Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes, 2018
🏰Domaine Prieure Roch is celebrated for its biodynamic practices and minimal intervention winemaking, producing highly expressive and often idiosyncratic Burgundies. Their wines are known for their purity, intensity, and unique character. The 2018 vintage in Burgundy was warm and generous, yielding ripe and opulent Pinot Noirs. This Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Vieilles Vignes" (old vines) offers a 【powerful yet elegant Pinot Noir with exceptional concentration and complexity】 due to the lower yields and deeper root systems of older vines.
Expect notes of ripe dark cherries, blackberries, and plums, intertwined with forest floor, exotic spices, and a distinctive savory, almost gamey, undertone that is characteristic of Prieure Roch. The palate should be full-bodied, rich, and textural, with firm but refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. This wine has excellent aging potential.
🍴 This profound red Burgundy would be exceptional with roasted game birds like pheasant or partridge, venison stew, or a classic beef Wellington. It also pairs beautifully with truffle dishes, earthy mushroom preparations, or strong, aged Burgundian cheeses.
🥂 A truly special wine for serious Burgundy collectors and enthusiasts. Ideal for a grand dinner, a significant anniversary, or a contemplative tasting session to appreciate its unique terroir expression and winemaking philosophy.
